Water PNG becomes pageant sponsor

WATER PNG is the latest corporate entity to join the family of sponsors of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant (MPIP) PNG with K20,000.
The sponsorship was announced on Wednesday at the Water PNG Office at Gordon.
The sponsorship funds will go towards the MPIP PNG Scholarship Fund as well as assist the pageant committee in its preparation for the regional pageant which will be staged in PNG later this year.
Director of Water PNG board Sandis Tsaka, spoke on behalf of the chairman and board of directors, expressing their support towards MPIP PNG and the platform it provided to empower young women.
He acknowledged MPIP PNG’s achievements so far, especially having brought home two Pacific crowns in the last eight years, and the scholarship fund which assisted young women to complete their tertiary education.
“We are very proud that PNG will be hosting the regional pageant and showcase our beauty and cultures to the region,” Tsaka said.
“I am proud to see the calibre of young women that are being developed by the MPIP PNG platform.”
Speaking on behalf of the MPIP PNG committee patron Lynda Babao-O’Neill said the K20,000 sponsorship would go a long way to supporting the work of the pageant.
“Some of it will go towards the Scholarship Fund for young women and the other portion will assist with the staging of the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant which will be held here in Port Moresby in November.”
It is the second year of sponsorship of MPIP PNG for Water PNG who gave K15,000 last year.
