West are no Jokers in PMBL

 IT was seen as a confidence-building excerise more than a maiden victory. 

That is what Moresby West Jokers hoped to achieve in their first PNG Men’s Basketball League match last Thursday.

Jokers defeated the established Propest Chariots 84-72 at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complexin Port Moresby.

Community Development Minister Loujaya Tony had the honour of tipping off the competition.

Jokers franchise owner Konio Aila Polo said the victory was a step in the right direction for the club which has recently returned to the Port Moresby basketball scene.
