THE Women of Westpac (WoW), a women-focused employee advocacy group, held its inaugural retreat to foster the growth and empowerment of women at the bank, an official says.
WoW PNG chairperson Sheila Gabusiani said the retreat reaffirmed their commitment to supporting and advocating for women’s advancement in the workplace.
“The retreat provided a platform to network, share experiences, and gain valuable insights from various industry leaders,” she said.
“From interactive workshops to inspiring keynote speakers, the retreat offered a blend of learning and relaxation, empowering women to unlock their full potential.
“At Westpac, we firmly believe that profitability should not only be measured in financial terms but also in the positive impact we make on our employees’ lives.”
She added that by investing in their personal and professional development, the women were not only enriching their lives but also driving sustainable growth for their organisation.
Gabusiani said the bank aimed to provide a supportive environment where women can thrive both professionally and personally. Westpac PNG chief executive officer Brett Hooker said the bank believed in creating a workplace where everyone had the chance to succeed.
“As part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, Westpac recognises the valuable contributions and unique perspectives that women bring to the table,” he said.
