What a waste

THE news article titled, Bridge fails to provide public safety (The National, Oct 25) shows another waste of public funds. However, the contractors engaged in building this bridge were the major beneficiaries. For the city residents it seems to us that it adds no direct value to our lives. When there is a need for another overhead walkway to be built at Boroko, City Hall decided to put up this one near its new office complex. Are we truly addressing the needs of the people? Although it adds value to the image of the city, we should question why it was build there when there is no demand at all.
