What is happening?

Letters

WE, the youths, want the Minister for Religion, Youth and Community Development Soroi Eoe to tell us what is happening with the National Youth Development Authority office.
There was a change with interim acting director general Reuben Akia who was replaced by Joe Itaki who is an officer from the Department of Community Development to act as an acting interim director-general again on that same acting position.
Akia under his acting appointment leadership implemented the NYDA Act 2014 to facilitate the formation of National Youth Council at the LLG level, district level and the provincial level.
We never knew of the existence of our youth office.
We also aware that the newly appointed acting director general Joe Itaki has abolished the newly created National Youth Council network branch which was instructed in the NYDA Act.
We also want the minister to tell the young men and women in the country where is the K9 million allocated to roll out establishment of youth friendly centres in the country for the youths in the districts and provinces.
We are also aware that year 2017 to 2018 Auditor-General reports regarding the use of funds was very poor which lots of kina was un-acquitted by the office, therefore we want the minister to investigate where all this funds went, which we the youths have never ever benefited directly from the funds.
