Why only roll out now, Dekena?

Letters, Normal

I REFER to your reports “Services roll out in Gumine” (Aug 30) and “Garia thanks government for Chimbu ministers” (Aug 31).
As far as the people of Gumine electorate are concern, these are long overdue projects which were supposed to be launched three years ago.
Now that the clock is ticking down towards the next election, Gumine MP Lukas Dekana and Chimbu Governor John Garia are executing their game plan so the people can dance to their beat.
The governor said Gumine was leading in service deliveries in Chimbu.
Can Dekena and Garia give us details of specific projects and services they delivered to the electorate?
It was also mentioned that health, rural transport, television and radio services were among those delivered.
Can the governor tell the people of Gumine when and where those projects were carried out?
Stop playing mind games on the people.
Sealing of roads and electricity projects was initially delivered by Nick Kopia Kuman.
Kuman presented schools trucks for Gumine and Boromil high schools, ambulance for Gomgale health centre and Gumine District Hospital, and also set up TV satellite for Gumine.
We did not see any input from Dekena.
After three barren years, the people have already lost their respect for the MP.
Don;t forget Gumine people are also taxpayers and all we want is to see our taxes go into good use.
