Why punish the teachers?

Letters

IT is sad to read that more than 40,000 teachers across Papua New Guinea have not submitted their Resumption of Duty Summary Sheets (RODSS) to the Teaching Service Commission. This is the first of its kind for PNG and will result in a huge number of teachers going on auto suspension from the payroll.
Imagine what’s going to happen during term two if provincial education advisers fail to submit the forms to TSC.
I am sure that most teachers will walk off the job and children’s education will badly be affected.
Let us not blame the teachers. I’m sure they have submitted the forms to their respective districts’ education managers and standard officers. But who is at fault now?
Most hard-working teachers serving in the remote parts of PNG are unaware of this issues because of communication problems.
They are committed to teaching the children.
Please do not punish the innocent heard-working teachers.
