Kroton Hela Wigmen overpowered PRK Gulf Isou to secure a comfortable 26-6 win in round 14 of the Digicel Cup at the National Football Stadium yesterday.
The match did not reach any great heights as the Wigmen dominated play over their struggling opponents.
Wigmen touched down four times through two-try heroes Stanford Talita and Daniel Tapol, with Stanley Olo converting twice.
Isou’s consolation try came from Benji Kenny, with Jeffrey Para adding the extras.
With former PNG Hunters Timothy Lomai and Benjamin Hetra, and Raymond Tia coming off the bench, Wigmen had the Isou contained for nearly the entire first half as they went into the sheds with a handy 14-0 lead.
Isou had their fair share of chances to score after the break but silly errors and a poor completion rate let them down.
Isou’s Joshua Thomas and John Horope found the going tough against their more composed opponents.
Meanwhile, only four rounds remain before the top five is confirmed.
