HELA Wigmen chairman Andy Hetra says the team have been setting themselves high standards over the last two Digicel Cup seasons in terms of discipline.
Hetra told The National last week that he wanted club culture to be built around discipline and that the franchise expected players and coaching staff to toe the line.
“The Wigmen are a team who have set high standards for themselves,” Hetra said of the fourth-placed Digicel Cup side, who finished last season as runners-up.
“The club culture is built around discipline and mutual respect.
“The club sets expectations, everyone knows what to do on and off the field.
“Every week, all players work hard to earn their spots in the line-up.
“All players know that it is not their right to wear the jersey but a privilege to represent a brand, the sponsors and the province so they must justify their place in the side through hard work.
“The coaching staff have worked so hard in the pre-season in filtering the players who are ready to prove their worth.
“All players have demonstrated that in last four games. All four games have been tough, but the hunger to win, perseverance and commitment is there for us to grind out wins.
“We are not a well-polished side. We are a work in progress.
“Each week, we strive to improve.
“We are not too concerned about the ladder at the moment as it is only round four.
“We are taking it one game at the time.
“We can’t rely on last year’s form as this season is different.”
