THE nation’s capital will see another double-header at the National Football Stadium on Sunday with the local derby being between the Port Moresby Vipers and Gulf Isou.

This will be an evenly contested affair as both teams are Port Moresby based are determined to win in front of their loyal fans.
The Wigmen-Mioks match sees the competition leaders from Wabag looking to add to their unbeaten streak of five victories but they will be up against a motivated Hela side who saw off the Gulf Isou 16-8 last week at the same venue.
Coach Timothy Lepa’s Mioks side managed to scrape home 12-10 over the Mendi Muruks at Aipus Oval last Sunday.
In the second match, the Isou would be desperate to get their season back on track after suffering four straight loss.
Rookie coach Colin Geno, who came into the league sporting an impressive resume as a successful nines coach, is finding out quickly that having a good game plan and a solid is not enough to be successful at this level.
The club, with a distinct lack of experience, is struggling to win matches despite being involved in mostly close contests.
The Vipers, on the other hand, have a better up side despite being out-played 26-4 by the Agmark Gurias last week. Vipers deputy chairman Tony Sipa said they had gone back to drawing board after getting schooled last week.
Sipa said it was disappointing to lose at home like that, particularly after coming off wins over Lae Tigers Chimbu Warriors.
Sipa said the club had got good press coverage after those wins and that could have made them complacent. Round 6 Fixtures: Sun, May 13 – Warriors v Tumbe, Tigers v Muruks, Wigmen v Mioks, Isou v Vipers, Gurias v Lahanis.
