Wild spending in State institution

The National Letters

THERE has been a breakdown on stringent spending control by State institutions under the regime of the current Government since independence.
There is no discipline in managing the usage of budgetary funds for tangible goods and services to show for.
A bad spending culture has crept in after the then Finance Department minister pushed for a legislation freeze all project trust accounts some three years ago.
All is not well in the engine room of Government machinery in delivering tangible goods and services.
It is not surprising to see the defection of ministers to Opposition to change this bad culture.
