The Commission of Inquiry into the sinking of the Rabaul Queen found the vessel should not have departed on its final voyage.
The COI also confirmed what many knew about the firm’s safety standards.
The owner of Rabaul Queen, Peter Sharp, made a lucrative business at the expense of ordinary Papua New Guineans who opt for a cheaper mode of travel.
Will those implicated face the full force of the law?
Will this inquiry die out like all the other past COIs that cost millions of taxpayers’ money?
There are families who lost a loved one which drastically changed their lives forever.
