Will latest health plan be implemented?

WHILE the majority of the people are reading, watching and listening to recently launched 2011-20 National Health Plan, some of us are wondering why previous national health plans were not successful.
We all know any plan is good as long as there is commitment and financial support by the government.
Previous plans were also supposed to address our health problems.
Unfortunately, they were not able to be implemented because the government did not provide leadership, management and funds to drive them forward.
Many of the issues raised in this plan are not new and if the same old attitudes persist, this plan is doomed.
So please don’t give Papua New Guineans false hopes and raise our expectations.
The Health Department must ensure the 2011-20 National Health Plan is implemented.
