Winner of masthead comp wants to start vending business

MOTHER-of-two Rehab Taonsal plans to use the K250 she won from the weekly The National masthead competition to start a small vending business.
“I intend to use it on food and bus fares and some to start a little vending business so that I shall have a testimony to tell later,” she said.
She buys the newspaper to read daily feature stories on people, the Bible verses in the Daily Bread and the Column One items, which she says are motivating.
“I love motivational stories written about people’s lives and achievements. It is a great column in this paper. Whenever I get a copy, I first turn to the People page.”
Another winner, Xavier Aiye, will spend the K250 to buy new sports shoes as he plays for the Genesis FC in the Port Moresby Soccer Association competition.
The 29-year-old Madang lad is a final-year student at the Lassalle Technical College in Port Moresby studying tourism and hospitality. He never misses Column One on the People page and sports.
Winner Andy Nama, 53, said it was an Easter blessing for his family.
