West New Britain Governor Sasindran Muthuvel has raised concerns about the deteriorating condition of the Hoskins-Koimumu road in Nakanai. He said the local contractor (named) has yet to start work on the rehabilitation of the road. “Funding has been given by the Works Department to the company but no work has been done. There are many new roads being built but what about the existing, deteriorating roads that need to be fixed. We will try our best to find some local solutions.” He added that the effects of climate change such as sea level rise, has caused extensive damage to the road.
