Farmland of vanilla, cocoa and food gardens in East Sepik’s Korogu village in Wosera-Gawi were covered by floodwaters due to continuous rain in the district early this year. Similar damages were reported throughout the Pagwi and Marienberg local level governments, with floodwaters measuring as high as three metres. Families were facing hardships, posing more challenges for the provincial and district authorities. Relief assistance are continuing.
