Villager’s from Muro, in the hinterland of Orokolo, walking through a track that used to be a road near Mareke village.
They are on their way to Ihu station.
This track was once a road linking Orokolo villages to Ihu High School, the airstrip and government services at Ihu station in Kikori District, Gulf.
Years back you can see tractors ferrying people and cargoes to and from the station but that lively activity where children eagerly line up on the roadside to cheer and see tractors is gone.
This is all that is left of the road.
