This is the way it is when going into rural areas.
Morobe education division’s special professional assistance (SPA) officer Berei Karo, while travelling through the Lower Watut area, became bogged when trying to cross the speeding river on Saturday night.
Karo was accompanying Huon Gulf MP Ross Seymour and they were returning from Tsiletsile on Friday.
The vehicle was unable to cross the river and got stuck in the middle of the river.
Karo and his team had to climb out of the windows.
Before the river started to flood, some men helped push the vehicle out of the river before it was washed away.
