While industries are increasing their productions to meet the demands of their customers, the waste that this trend is producing has been massive.
The world at this stage is looking at possible means of controlling wastes that are being dumped into the environment, mainly the rivers and oceans.
These wastes are causing hazard to people, the marine lives and others at Voco Point in Lae.

When the high tide subsides, it leaves behind this pile of rubbish.
On many occasions these plastic waste are buried in the sand nearby.
