Put up towers

Letters

I AM a frequent Digicel user, and no matter what, that will be the only network to be used.
There are a lot of reasons besides it.
But before that, Telikom was the countries first telecommunication group.
Lot of queues all around at phone boots and post offices.
Their repeater stations were built all around the country’s highest mountains. Some mountains selected to be cleared to establish repeater towers especially in parts of Erave in Kagua-Erave in SHP had caused a lot of deaths which resulted in clan groups involving in land disputes.
That was in the 1990s and the disputes are still on.
The first mobile phones introduced by Telikom was Motorola which cost about K700 to K800 and the sim cards about K50 to K60.
It was only afforded by only business men and women including high wage earners
However, from early 2000 till now, Digicel PNG has done a great job in the communication industry which connects the whole country.
And even the mobile phone is owned by different types of people. No matter how expensive it may be to use Digicel, we will still go for Digicel.
But please live up to your saying by putting towers were its missing.
