WNB pays for students’ fees

MORE than 100 students from West New Britain (WNB) attending tertiary institutions in East New Britain (ENB) received their school fee assistance from the provincial last week.
It came from the provincial tertiary education students assistance scheme.
Two provincial executive committee members Raphael Divu and Francis Waka handed over the funds.
Divu said they had already paid more than K500,000 in school fee subsidy to tertiary institutions in East New Britain for West New Britain.
“We want to empower students,” he said.
The Gaulim Teachers College received K88,000, Sonoma Adventist College K82,000, Rabaul Community College K160,000, PNG University of Natural Resources and Environment K132,500, St Peter Channel College K22,500, Kabaleo Teachers College K40,000 and St Mary’s Vunapope School of Nursing K40,000.
“The provincial government (wants) students to succeed in their study,” Divu said.
