OK Tedi Foundation, under a new arrangement, will be reporting to the Governor of Western Ati Wobiro.

He said during the opening of a trestle wharf last week in Daru that the Government had approved the new arrangement.

Part of it is for the Ok Tedi Foundation to report to the Governor of Western, he said.

Wobiro said the Government alone could not bring  services to the people and needed partners and stakeholders to help.

“We cannot work alone but we will play our role to coordinate and make it conducive for the private sector to come in,” he said.

Wobiro said Ok Tedi and other partners were in the country because they had a development role to play.

He told the people that the opening of the trestle wharf was to celebrate the outcome of this partnership. He also thanked PNGSDP, Curtain Brothers and PNG Ports for their support in building the wharf.

“For too long this province has been referred to as the richest but the poorest. Starting from today we will make it the richest and the most developed,” he said.
