A WOMAN was charged in the Waigani Committal Court yesterday with stealing K7,000 from her mother on Dec 19.
Magistrate Tracy Ganaii read the charges against Mary Jack, 45, and Angelyn Soh, 20, each charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud Helen Soh.
According to the police report, it was alleged that on Dec 19, at about 1pm, Soh stole her mother’s visa card and went to Central Waigani ATM with Mary and withdrew money.
The report alleged that Soh and her accomplice withdrew the money on different occasions while Soh’s mother was away on a trip in Australia.
The mother found her Visa card missing when she returned from Australia.
On Dec 31, she (the mother) reported the matter to BSP’s Waigani branch and found that her visa card had been used illegally.
On Jan 6, Soh allegedly admitted to her mother that she had used the money in her visa card with Mary.
The mother then lodged a police report that saw Soh and Mary charged in court.
Ganaii adjourned hearing to Feb 21.

  • Family Matter yes but she has to face the law as well. Send them to jail….so that they know the difference between right and wrong.

  • wasting court’s time. strike the case and refer to family disciplinary discussion. mother should teach her daughter when she was baby not to steal but now, she is 20 years old so fault lays back with mother.
