A 28-YEAR-OLD woman was charged in a committal court in Waigani with defaming another woman last September.
Magistrate Danny Wakikura, on Monday, read out the charge to Beatrice Stanley, from Lufa’s Kivoi village, Eastern Highlands, and remanded her.
Beatrice was arrested again for not attending court and breaching her bail conditions last week.
Magistrate Wakikura told Beatrice that she would have to make a submission stating reasons for not attending the court and breaching her bail conditions.
He then adjourned the matter to June 1.
Police prosecutor Peter Samghy told the court that Beatrice’s hand-up brief was already filed and ready to be served. Last Sept 5, Beatrice allegedly posted a defamatory publication against Georgina Sinen, claiming that she was having an affair with Georgina’s husband (Godfrey Sinen) and had a daughter with him.
It was alleged that Georgina had found out that Beatrice was having an affair with her husband.
There were three different alleged fake Facebook users launched to attack her.
Police claimed that since Beatrice’s picture was sent to Georgina using one of the alleged fake Facebook accounts and Beatrice’s real Facebook account at the same time, it was alleged that Beatrice was the one using the fake accounts.
Beatrice is further alleged to have posted: “Georgina, I feel funny for you when you called yourself queen boss and was married to Godfrey virgin but em no busy so em painim sweet na experience single mama ken”.
Beatrice admitted that she was angry with Godfrey because he was not answering her phone call when her baby was sick.
