Women’s matches washed out

 THE Port Moresby women’s softball matches were cancelled on Saturday due to a heavy downpour experienced in the capital city.

Showers started in the early hours of Saturday and continued throughout the day until evening affecting other codes such as soccer. 

The matches have been re-scheduled to March 8 to end round two of the competition.

Next weekend’s matches will go ahead as scheduled.

President Jenny Paak said the matches will now be played at the end of the round.

Meanwhile, Stingerz still leads the A grade competition on 33 points, Bears 31, United Sisters 28, Gazelle 28, Wantoks 27, Wolves 27, Chebu 26, Yokomo 23 and Admiralty 16.

Stingerz again lead the B grade standing on 33 points, followed by Chebu on 31, Yokomo 30, Admiralty 29, Wolves 28, Bears 26, Wantoks 20 Gazelle 16 and United Sisters 14.
