Women’s win a huge boost

I WOULD like to congra­tulate Julie Soso for winning the Eastern Highlands provincial seat.
I also take this opportunity to congratulate Deli­lah Gore for winning Sohe open and Loujaya Toni for winning Lae open.
Their wins have cor­rected many wrong perceptions about our country.
They have shown PNG and the world that we are moving forward and that our women are not second-class but equal partners to their male counterparts.
May God bless Eastern Highlands as the first pro­vince to elect a woman governor.
Thanks must also go to Dame Carol Kidu, Janet Sapias, Margaret Parua and other great women of this country for fighting for women’s rights.
Their cries have touch­ed many and, as a result, we have three new women MPs in parliament.
