WOMEN have been advised to focus on what they want to do and not let others drag them down.

Morobe Joint Venture group resources manager Ellenor Iutiko told a Soroptimist International Club gathering in Lae that women must hold onto their values and contribute to their families and workplaces.

She was one of the speakers at the gathering. Others include Agnes Mark, BSP Top Town branch manager, Eunice Gware, Tablebirds sales manager and cancer survivor Francesca Gware.

They spoke on challenges women faced in their homes with their families and the workplaces, and what elevated some women to senior management positions.

The organisation has more than 90,000 women worldwide. The Lae chapter set up 20 years ago is part of the federation of South West Pacific.
