A WOMEN’s small to medium enterprise (SME) network has urged the government to look at assisting small businesses struggling due to the impact of coronavirus.
The Pacifika Women’s Network (PWN) trade centre in Port Moresby which was opened after the two-week’ lockdown is now closed again.
“We have closed our doors again for two months following the extended state of emergency,” PWN administration officer Rachael Micah said.
Micah said they had no choice but to close.
“The reason for our closure is because we don’t have proper health and safety in placed in the trade centre, because we deal with the public,” she said.
“The 87 women-owned SMEs are unable to pay rent as they have not been operating.”
