THE Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association is looking to start its season in October, pending approval from the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF) and PNG Baseball Softball Confederation (PNGBSC).
Association president Ian Soweni told The National that PNGBSC would submit a proposal to PNGSF to start their season.
“Our season starts in late September and early October so we are waiting, assessing and ready to comply with the protocols put in place by PNGSF to resume our activities,” he said. “We had a meeting with PNGBSC last Monday and they are submitting our softball proposal to PNGSF for approval.
“Upon approval, we will be in a position to advise on dates to resume our activities.
“At this stage, we can only wait for the green light from PNGSF and PNGBSC before we can elaborate on the calendar for 2020-2021.”
Meanwhile, PNG Softball Federation president Ralph Tarasomo reminded associations to await feedback in regard to when and how they will run competitions this year.
