EIGHT Chinese women found by police at the Blue Diamond Music Club on Saturday have been told by police to remain at the premises while their visas are screened by Immigrations.
Deputy Comm (DCP), operations, Donald Yamasombi said police were investigating why they obtained tourist visas but ended up at the location that looked like a dormitory when searched by police.
DCP Yamasombi told The National that the women would remain in the country until investigations were completed. He said their visa permitted them to stay for 30 days.
They had a search warrant for the premises issued by the Wagani District Court last month.
The warrant, he said, ordered police to search the PNG Fujian Entrepreneurs Association Inc, Section 108, Lot 9 that accommodated Blue Diamond Music Club, restaurants, the association’s office and residential cubes at Erima.
DCP Yamasombi said police allegedly found that there were some illegal things happening in the premises. He said the Diamond Music Club had women who were working for the club to entertain guests
“From the information we have from sources, the guest pays K2,500 for a lady to either drink with, sleep with him or just sit down and chat with him in the room.
“During our search we discovered that eight ladies had valid passports for 30 days and they came from different provinces in China.”

  • This clearly shows how weak our systems are. Those who are incharge of systems and processes have already compromised the integrity of the office they hold.
Most cases of such nature are knowingly done by those who are entrusted with the responsibilities of those office. Yet because of reasons known to themselves have allowed such to happen.
Get to the root to investigate how this has happened.
