Work on the University of Technology to Bumayong section of Independence Drive is progressing well, according to the project manager of JV PNG Investment Constructions, Francis Martin.
He told The National that even though the work was to progress as scheduled, people travelling and local community had been affected and were asked to cooperate.
“The rainy season is also another factor that will greatly affect the overall progress but we are trying our best to work in line with the scheduled dates to maintain progress and reach the proposed completion dates,” Martin said.
He said the proposed completion date was December but that would depend on the weather.
He said the stabilisation process was almost complete with 500m remaining.
Curb work had begun.
The main concrete pavement would be next after necessary quality control checks
“In the meantime, we thank all the project stakeholders and general public for the continuous support.”
