Works department and government negligent

Letters, Normal

I AM not happy with the Works Department and national government.
They are not doing anything to reduce accidents at the Zumim bridge.
Far too many lives are being lost from road accidents there.
While many of the accident can be attributed to drivers’ carelessness, others are caused by poor road designs.
The recent accident at Markham which claimed the life of Pastor Joseph Kingal is worrying many of us as this was not the first death.
The department must send its technical officers to investigate the factors contributing to the accidents and submit recommendations.
The sharp bends leading to and after the Zumim bridge should have been eliminated after the third accident and the road redesigned.
It is now time to rectify it.
