PRICES for petrol, diesel and kerosene in Port Moresby have increased between 5 and 21toea.
The price of petrol went up by 21toea to K3.56 from K3.35 last month. Diesel increased by 7toea to K3.31 compared with K3.24 last month.
Price of kerosene increased by 5toea to K3.01, compared with K2.96 last month.
According to the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC), the increase in the retail prices for the three petroleum products was mainly attributed to the increases in the crude oil prices and the depreciation of the PNG kina against US dollar last month and this year.
Commissioner and chief executive Paulus Ain, pictured, said its investigation officers would inspect service stations to ensure the prices of petroleum products they charged did not exceed the allowable maximum prices.
Consumers should report any overcharging by retailers.
