Writing can generate revenue

Letters

WRITING is a separate field of profession and is not developed overnight.
One has to develop a constant habit of writing and reading.
Professional writers are many in Papua New Guinea but to have the written pages available to global market requires government assistance.
Why do I say this? Some writings are commercial.
For instance, a novel for children, vampires, witch, romance and many more.
An example is the Harry Potter books.
It was a novel written British female author J.K. Rowlings.
She is now a billionaire and is the richest female in the UK.
In PNG, we take writing for granted and think that it is for research in universities, letter writing or at secondary and primary schools. When one gets employed the writing habits die out.
That’s the reason no written work of Papua New Guineans is available at libraries around the world.
Papua New Guinean writers are many and if the government supports them then their writings can even be commercial.
Writing is a revenue giant.
Our writings can also be turned into films.
I think our good government should assist PNG writers to market their works and also publish more of their writings globally.
