Young people can make better decisions if they are physically and mentally fit, says a member of Yoga Unites Club.
Yellyne Ricky is a young woman from Central who found solace in yoga while facing  financial problems after leaving school.
“I completed secondary school but stayed out due to school fee issues and my aunty introduced me to Yoga Unites,” she said.
Ricky said  yoga helped her and other members of the club to get rid of bad habits like drinking and taking drugs.
“Yoga has helped me to quit alcohol and there are some of my friends who stopped consuming drugs after they started practising yoga,” she said.
Ricky said yoga was a  form of exercise and for her club members and normal sessions included stretches, acrobatics, dances and boxing.
She said working people could attend community classes on Saturdays at the Filipino Association in Gordon while those who were not working could attend  club sessions that ran from 9am to noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
