YOUNG Guns beat Miro Koivi White 8-4 on the opening day of the Fuzzy Wuzzy 9s at the National Football Stadium yesterday.
Young Guns in the Port Moresby Rugby League’s Butterflies strip started their Pool G fixtures with a hard-fought win.
Guns winger Joe Olova scored two tries — one in each half. Robert Mase scored Miro Koivi’s try.
The Guns take on Opogo Eels, who lost 18-0 to All Tribes Combo, today. Koivi next plays All Tribes.
Meanwhile, former Hunter Wartovo Puara Jr led Laumas 1 to an 8-4 win over the Koita Cowboys.
Lauma 2 beat Royals 26-8.
Laumas 2 next play Koivi Black.
Central Governor Robert Agarobe kicked off the tournament.
The finals start on Wednesday.
