Youth programme holds graduation

URBAN Youth Development Programme (Uyep) that focuses in the growth and development of unemployed youths successfully held it 14th graduation last Thursday.
Uyep project manager Tom Gilis said the programme aims to provide youths with income from temporary employment opportunities and to increase their employability.
Gilis said the focus is on disadvantage urban youths between the age of 16-35 that neither work nor study and have limited economic opportunities including those that have never accessed or completed formal education and are not been integrated into the labour market.
Guest Speaker Ian Hetri encouraged the youths to enhance their skills in this trades and find value in it to make them become someone.
About 700 youths in the National Capital District were given certificates in recognition of their time and effort in doing basic service around the city.
