Youth willingly surrenders bullet to cops

A MAN handed over a bullet to police yesterday in response to a warning by a senior officer for young people to do something useful instead of petty crimes.
Gordon Police Station commander Insp Mark Mosinakave reminded young people to get themselves involved in something useful.
Insp Mosinakave was at the bus stop at 5am yesterday when the young man, who declined to give his name, handed over the bullet and told him the bullet would only spoil his life if he kept it.
Insp Mosinakave said he was encouraging young people selling items in Gordon to watch those loitering and stealing from people.
“Gordon has the opportunity to attract customers during the night like the market at Gerehu,” he said.
“Youths can change their behaviour and start doing something productive to earn a living like doing marketing in the night or during the day.
“The police station is just next to the market and the bus stop, a place safe for the public to move around and enjoy buying things. But it is not happening.”
Insp Mosinakave urged people to do house arrests of criminals who steal or assault others.
He thanked the youth who handed over the bullet and encouraged others to do the same and live a good life.
