Youths surrender equipment to authorities

A GROUP of young men have surrendered their containers for making homebrew to authorities.
The 10 young men from Kaisa Two in the Busu mountain of Nawaeb LLG surrendered their brewing containers to the community leader Kunas Talevu and committee member Robin Gigiong in front of police officers from the Bumayong police post last Saturday.
They apologised for creating fear in the community when under the influence of liquor and had vowed to stop brewing alcohol.
“We are leaving our old habit that has been haunting us for years and accept new changes,’’ a spokesman said.
“We hope our leaders come up with innovative ways to help us succeed in life.”
Talevu thanked them for the initiative to change and urged others in the city and the province to do the same.
