Ten teams have been confirmed for the finals of the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) Besta Cup finals in Lae from the Sept 13-15.
Six men’s and four women’s teams representing the four regions will clash for the cup.
Hoods men and Port Moresby Soccer Association women will represent Southern, Almami men and Morobe Football Association (MFA) women will represent Mamose, Goroka men and women will represent the Highlands, and the New Guinea Islands will be represented by Kimbe men and women.
The MFA men — runners-up to Almami — and Kamali — runners-up to Hoods — will make appearances.
Competition manager Simon Koima said Mamose and Southern had two slots for men while Highlands and NGI had one each.
“The women teams will play an elimination, with the top two heading straight to the grand final,” PNGFA said in a statement.
“For the men’s teams, the teams with the highest points from each pool will play for the 2018 National FA Cup Championship.”
