POLICE in East New Britain (ENB) have arrested and charged a 19-year-old man and three juveniles with wilful murder.
ENB police commander Snr Insp Joseph Tabali said the incident occurred on the night of May 5, between 8pm and 9pm, at Birar village in the Bitapaka local level government (LLG) in Kokopo.
The main suspect, Sivon Tilon, allegedly slashed Tony Katet on the left arm with an oil palm knife during a fight after Katet had accused him of having an affair with his wife.
Katet died from loss of blood.
Snr Insp Tabali said Tilon, from Birar, was arrested and charged with wilful murder and detained at the Kokopo Police Station.
He said three boys between the ages of 17 and 14 helped Tilon carry out the attack.
“The three (juveniles) have also been locked up at the Kokopo police cell waiting for their appearance in the Kokopo District Court this week,” Snr Insp Tabali said. “Bail for these four suspects have not been allowed as the offence committed is very serious in nature.”

  • Just locked them up and throw the keys away. No court appearances for these culprits they should go straight to jail because they don’t deserve a court hearing and sentencing because they are guilty.
