THE previous government is facing some of its darkest moments after dominating the political scene for the past nine years.
The lesson for the National Alliance party and other political parties is not to take things for granted.
The NA created political history by being the first party to retain its political mandate in parliament.
It was in power for almost two terms.
It also attracted a lot of investors but weak leadership and in-fighting brought it down.
The current government is made to look good because it dared to make tough decisions unlike the previous government.
It has become too arrogant and is blinded by power.
Look at the way it is treating the founding father, Sir Michael Somare.
He should be allowed to serve out this term.
The politicians can do battle during the election next year.
And before we go to the polls, the government needs to upgrade or rebuild the infrastructure.
The funds have been allocated, just make sure they are used for their intended purpose and not diverted which seems to have become a trend.
Let’s cooperate and work together to bring PNG to the next level.
Let’s look forward to a brighter future.
Our “typical attitudes” make us prone to exploitation and malpractices and we need to change our mentality, from the top down.
Enough is enough!
