Accept changes to appointment

Letters

HEADS of schools must accept with open hearts changes to appointments.
The case of the two rivals, each claiming to be the rightful heir to the office of principal of Asaroka Lutheran Secondary School in Eastern Highlands, is nothing but clear ignorance and disrespect for authorities.
Their actions ignited a conflict which saw the new academic year starting in chaos and endangering the learning of innocent students.
News of similar instances cropping up in academic institutions around the country is familiar at this time of the year,
Those objecting to positional changes must bear in mind that to take matters into their own hands is not right.
There are rightful avenues through which to launch appeals.
The Government is investing a lot of money in education with the aim of improving the quality nationwide.
Such deeds by narrow-minded individuals will both delay and derail progress and lead to poor academic performance.
The decision to suspend the two opposing administrators by the provincial division of education is applauded. Other provinces are urged to do the same also,
should there arise disputes over positions which threaten students’ learning.
Our children are our future, so let us take ownership of their learning.
