Admin boss focuses on accountability

NAMATANAI district administrator Neville Tomon says he is focused on improving accountability in the district’s function this year.
Tomon made the remarks recently at the setting of the district administration’s 2020 plan.
“We will be seriously looking at improving areas we have lacked in to strengthen our administrative functions this year,” he said.
Tomon said his administration would strictly adhere to government policies and acts.
“We will take into consideration the Public Finance Management Act so we are on the right tract in delivering our duties,” he said.
He commended district finance manager David Weri for his input in making the district office more efficient and better able to serve the people.
“I am quite happy with his (Weri’s) performance so far. We have worked side by side since his appointment and I have found him to be very competent because he understands the management side of things.”
Tomon said the administration was also pleased to work with Namatanai MP Walter Schnaubelt who was keen on empowering the people and fighting corruption.
