DEPARTMENT of Lands and Physical Planning acting secretary Oswald Tolopa says all agencies must work together to move the national land reform programme forward.
Tolopa, speaking at the launching of the two discussion papers by the National Research Institute (NRI), said reviewing and implementation of the national land development programme (NLDP) set the way forward.
“I believe this is the precursor of what will come next which will set the next platform for us and that is the outcome of the National Land Summit 2019.” Tolopa said from the three main components of the recommendation of 2005, land administration, customary land and land dispute resolution, they would had a programme in place and will move forward to do awareness and consultation.
“It’s about training the trainers that the customary land and Voluntary land customary land registration and Incorporated Land Group (ILG) and also with our colleagues from Land court we will stand together to go out and ensure people are aware of the processes we have.
“We will invite other partners join us because this is a new era and a new term of events where we can be able to fully stand together and implement and making sure our people out there are well versed and acquainted with the process.” He acknowledged the support of the Finance, Treasury and National Planning departments.
“We are on the right path of making sure that we can do great things in developing this agenda. The national Land summit 2019 has reflected that unity,” Tolopa said.
NRI Director Dr Osbourne Sanida said the report described the achievements and challenges faced in the implementation of the NLDP.
