All talk, no action by the Government

IS the Sugarcandy Mountain the rich black Christian nation?
Moses, the raven in George Orwell’s book Animal Farm, talks about a utopian society up in some Sugarcandy Mountain as he shares tales of his travels to the bewildered animals in the farm with much of his own fantasies.
‘It’s a wonderful place’ Moses would begin as he perches himself comfortably up high on some leafy branches and continue, ‘where the animals enjoy leisure, plentiful food, and sweet treats. And there you don’t have to work’.
He would then disappear for a while and return with more tales of his travels.
As he was much of a sweet talker, he managed to convince many at first.
As time went by the animals begin to dislike him as they learned that much of what he said where his own fantasies and were not true and he was also lazy and didn’t help around on the farm.
Orwell’s allegorical tale of the Russian Revolution and the rise of the Soviet Union resembles maybe far remote to the recent PNG change of Government and the kind of leadership portrayed by the Marape-Davis Government but the character Moses the raven closely features Prime Minister James Marape.
All talk and fantasy talk with no real action and results.
There is no and will never be a rich black Christian nation as there is no Sugarcandy Mountain.
What’s weird is that the animals knew that the raven’s stories were lies but they allowed him to remain on the farm.

  • Lepi, so what is your alternative or a suggestion for improved governance here?

If you are providing none, then it’s best to keep your mouth locked because we haven’t come to the end of the road yet.

  • The PMJM has a great vision for the Nation, who will make it reality David Lepi, its you & me, take this vision at your level, from where you are, put in some commitments, see what happens after 10 years, where there is vision there is also a provision, I believe uncommitted people always like to complain & be spoon feed…..

  • Papua New Guineans need to think big and act locally rather than grumbling and crying like kids to be fed with rice and tinpis on the table.

  • the mining law has been changed to suit our needs and so will other laws such as the appointment of public servants top post, we will be better in 10 years because of some of this changes which the PMJM has initiated, more to come.

  • David Lepi….what a marvelous and fantastic illustration of the pRIME mINISTER…
