Keep Alotau clean at all times

Letters

WE should keep Alotau clean at all times and not to wait for the prime minister to come or any special event to happen for us to clean up.
This means we are not doing our work honestly but pretending to work when important people are present.
A good picture is the Milne Bay administration who employed some youths and started brushing the dirt from the fence surrounding the buildings earlier this week because the prime minister is coming to open the main Alotau market today.
As the capital of Milne Bay and the face of Alotau town, we should employ youths to clean our town every day and get them paid for their work.
Many are jobless and are selling betel nuts and smoke on the street, at the bus stops to make money.
Why are we ignoring and wait for the prime minister to come so we can employ them to clean up?
If we are working for the people, then we must also see the people’s needs every day and help them.
Maybe the prime minister should come every week so the town will be cleaned with its beauty maintained every day.
