THE Western government has presented two ambulances to two church-run health centres to support health care in the province.
Governor Taboi Awi Yoto handed over the ambulances in a ceremony held at the Rumginae rural sub-health centre.
The ambulances were purchased under a memorandum of understanding between the Digicel Foundation and the Western administration.
The vehicles were presented to the Catholic mission’s centre at Matkomnai and the Lutheran church’s rural sub health centre at Rumginae.
He commended health workers serving in those areas for their commitment.
Rumginae community health school principal Amos Kupaloma thanked the provincial government and Digicel Foundation for the support.
He said despite the challenges that church-run organisations encountered, they continued to serve the people of the province.
