Apec needs unity not division

Letters

NATIONS need one another for economic and political progress and development.
The Apec Leaders’ Summit is a sign of economic and political interdependency.
Our country needs to strengthen its regional economic and political relations within the region of Asia-Pacific.
I would recommend that the national political leaders of both Opposition and Government should work together to make our hosting of the Apec Leaders’ Summit a success.
We need to put aside our political differences and work together in this instance to help Papua New Guinea grow as a country.
PNG is a democratic nation; we can air our voices and criticism after the summit.
Now is not the time to debate Apec because to do that will be putting our country at economic and political risk.
We need to show a sense of responsibility and work together to develop the country and not tear it apart.
We should be work together as leaders and citizens.
