Apec Summit

Letters

WITH the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Summit to be held in PNG in a few months, interestingly, there is still not enough awareness.
For instance, you ask everyone in the rural settings and most of high school students, what are the benefits of Apec, what can you do as a host nation and the benefits attached to it?
They won’t give a positive feedback or good answer and its impact attached.
Furthermore, it can be written in the newspaper, televised, but it will not reach the rural people.
It is a national interest which was pursued and the delegates responsible; government and stakeholders should make awareness to decentralise information to the roots people of this proud host nation.
As seeing from a local perspective, people ask all sort of question that regards clarification on the upcoming event.
